Youth therapy
It’s not easy being a teenager
Therapy for teenagers
Adolescence is known for its physical, cognitive, emotional and social changes. One of the many things adolescents need to achieve during this period is making their own decisions. They are faced with deciding what friends they want in their life, how to spend their own money, what to study in school, and, additional pressures and experiences associated with social media, which many of us parents did not have to contend with.
This alone can present a struggle for some families. For you as a parent, it may be difficult to determine what is normal behaviour and what you should be concerned about. Adolescents also begin to crave time alone in their rooms, listening to music and talking with friends.
As a parent, you may be overwhelmed with worries and fears about your child's choices and behaviours. We know it's not easy, and we're ready to help. A compassionate and skilled youth therapist can make this stage of your parenting more enjoyable and fulfilling.
As a parent of a teenager, you may struggle with trusting your judgment in issues involving your teen and letting go of control in new areas. We provide youth therapy for adolescents and their parents to assist with communication issues, strengthening their relationships and problem-solving skills.

Our therapists have extensive experience and a caring approach to our young clients. We also offer individual support to adolescents with the overwhelming challenges they face in today's society. If you are concerned about the behaviour or emotional well-being of your child, you don't need to figure this all out on your own – we've got your back.
Youth therapy is one of our specializations; we have been accepting referrals from the local high schools for the past 18 years. Given the wide range of expertise within the practice, your youth will receive the highest quality of support and attention.

Why seek therapy for your teenager?
We’ve all been there; being a teenager is not easy. There are so many emotions and feelings that can be just overwhelming, not to mention stress and other challenges that life throws your child’s way.
Nowadays, many children and teenagers struggle with depression and other problems that we, as adults, didn’t encounter thirty or more years ago. As a result, we can be unsure of how to help them. And that’s the role for us – experienced youth therapists.
Therapy will give your teenager a safe space where they can freely express their emotions without being judged by parents or anyone else. Therapy will also help your child get to know themselves better, understand what they are going through, how their personality changes and how to deal with these changes (and challenges).
What will youth therapy give your child:
- A non-judgemental space to express themselves freely
- Better understanding of who they are and what they are going through
- Better relations with people around them (yes, including with parents)
- More confidence
